With all the flavors of your favorite Snickerdoodle cookie, this festive martini will be your new favorite after-dinner cocktail for the entire holiday season!

When I saw the recipe for a Caramel Snickerdoodle Martini on the Delish site last winter, I knew I had to try it!

It took me a year (almost to the day!) until this winter to actually get around to it making them, and I was disappointed I couldn't find any Smirnoff Kissed Caramel Vodka that the original recipe calls for, but I think my version is still delicious.

First, the rim of the glass is edged in caramel and cinnamon sugar, Then the vodka-cream base is flavored with a bit of cinnamon, and topped with whipped cream, more cinnamon sugar, and star anise for a bit of festive garnish.

You can whip your own cream, or even easier, use a squirt of store-bought whipped topping from the can.

Caramel Snickerdoodle Martini

Makes 1 cocktail.

2 tablespoons warmed caramel sauce, homemade or store-bought (I like this Stonewall Kitchen Sea Salt Caramel)

1 tablespoon cinnamon sugar*

4 ounces heavy cream, plus more whipped for garnish

1 ounce vodka (I use Tito's, but a Caramel or Vanilla vodka would be great here)

Star anise, for garnish

Pour the caramel sauce into a shallow bowl or onto a small plate. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar onto a second plate. Roll the rim of a martini glass in the caramel to coat evenly, let any excess drip off, then dip into the cinnamon sugar so it sticks to the caramel.

Add ice to a cocktail shaker, then add the heavy cream, vodka, and a pinch of the remaining cinnamon sugar. Shake to chill. Add ice to the prepared glass, then pour in the cocktail.

Pipe some whipped cream on top, sprinkle with more cinnamon sugar, and garnish with the star anise.

Cheers!

*I generally whisk 1 teaspoon of cinnamon into 4 teaspoons of sugar, for a 1 to 4 ratio, but you can go stronger, if you wish.

Always drink responsibly and don't drive.
